2015-05-21 06:00

CONSUMERS in the Eastern Cape can look forward to many firsts with the opening of Baywest.

Movie enthusiasts will be thrilled about Ster Kinekor opening its first Imax theatre in the region, with the launch date set for the middle of June. This is one of five Imax theatres in the country. Imax’s cutting-edge projection system – which delivers crystal-clear images – coupled with its customised theatre design and powerful digital sound system, create a unique environment that makes audiences feel as if they are in the film.

Another first is the new Checkers Hyper store which will offer a full range of consumer food and general merchandise under one roof (see competition on Page 12 with four R500 Checkers Hyper vouchers up for grabs).

Also opening at Baywest this week is DionWired, South Africa’s leading lifestyle technology store known for having a finger on the pulse of global trends. Everything about the store is Smart and customers can expect a focus on a multi-sensory, interactive shopping experience across an array of product categories including home entertainment, personal audio solutions, automatic coffee machines, trend setting appliances, photographic equipment and wearable activity trackers to name a few.

Game also relocates to Baywest Mall from the 17th Quarter Shopping Centre in Walmer and will now also be offering its newest innovation – fresh food.

This includes a delicious selection of pre-weighed, pre-priced fresh food items such as fruit, vegetables, meat and chicken.

Other firsts for PE and EC at Baywest Mall include:

. Dune footware

. Factorie clothing (first for PE)

. Fushin Champagne and Tapas Bar (first for EC)

. Cinnabon (first for EC)
