DA to pull out all stops to win Kouga

2015-07-16 12:53

SOME 200 residents braved the chilly weahter to attend the meeting held by Athol Trollip, the leader of the DA in the Eastern Cape, in Jeffrey Bay on July 13.

At the meeting, Trollip stressed the importance of the DA pulling out all the stops to win the Kouga in 2016.

“We cannot have a split vote in 2016,” said Trollip. “With 52% of voters casting their ballot for the DA in last year’s national election, Kouga residents proved that they want the DA to govern the Kouga.”

According to Trollip, the agricultural and tourism industries need to be nurtured to ensure sustainable job creation in the area.

Addressing problems facing residents, Trollip said that basic municipal services like refuse collection can be addressed successfully so that residents don’t have to live with rubbish littering their streets.

“It will take hard work and commitment to solve the problems facing Jeffreys Bay, but I am confident that the DA has a strong team in Kouga and will be up to the task come 2016,” said Trollip.

“The DA will be visiting residents and doing door to door campaigns to ensure everyone is registered and able to vote in the 2016 local government election. All I ask is that people must not split the vote and hand the municipality to the ANC.”
