WILL the new Volkswagen Up lift off this weekend or will the upside-down cow fly past the blue road runner on wheels?

Or will they be distracted by the delicious burger on offer from Tampa Bay Spur and the mouth-watering fish dish by Tapas Restaurant, while the friendly dolphin swims past them on its way to the finish line?

These trolleys are but a few of the various businesses competing in the annual Global Leadership Academy (GLA) Trolley Pro at Fountains Mall from 10:00 this Saturday.

Eleven teams will be lining up on the runway at Fountains Mall and as they prepare for action, they know their valiant efforts will all be for a good cause: all funds raised will go towards the construction of the new GLA school building, the GLA Eco Campus.

Racers need to be tough and fast to get into the finals, as only the top five teams will advance to the last round.

Businesses to compete are:

) Langkloof Bricks represented by the 8A class

) Ubuntu Bricks represented by the 8E class

) Fountains Mall represented by the 8N class

) True Technology represented by the 9A class

) Tapas represented by the 9E class

) Spar Jeffreys Bay represented by the 10A class

) Woodlands Dairy represented by the 10E class

) Kouga Express represented by the 11A class

) Pick ’n Pay represented by the 11E class

) Tampa Bay Spur represented by the 12A class

) Dirk Ellis Motors represented by the 12E class

The public can vote for their favourite trolley via an SMS-line.

To vote, SMS the keyword TROLLEY followed by the name of the business to 45527, for example TROLLEY Fountains Mall. Each SMS costs R1.50.

Voting closes at midnight on April 18.

One lucky voter stands the chance to win a R600 Fountains Mall voucher, while the class responsible for the trolley with the most votes will walk away with R5 000 from Fountains Mall.

Trolleys can be viewed at Fountains Mall and on the Kouga Express website at

This year, the Kouga Express has come on board as the official marketing partner of the 2015 GLA Trolley Pro, while Fountains Mall is an event sponsor.
