Meals on Wheels collects blankets for winter

2015-06-02 06:56

MEALS on Wheels Community Service in Jeffreys Bay will hold a Winter Welfare Blanket Collection for the less fortunate from June 1.

“We are entering that time of year where the temperatures are starting to drop quite severely. Certainly we all feel a chill in the air and know that the people in the nearby townships of Bayview and Pellsrus are feeling it too - especially the little ones and the elderly,” says Dean Luyt.

“This year we wish to extend our services to provide those who do not have the means with a blanket to ward off the cold.”

To assist the organisation, residents can donate R50. “As funds come in we will be purchasing the blankets and distributing them to those in need,” says Luyt.

“New and second hand blankets are also welcome.”
