THIRD time lucky . . .

Competing at the first Global Leadership Academy (GLA) Trashy Fashion Show in 2012, local designer Annica Erasmus claimed third place for her creative dress made from recyclable material.

The following year, she took second place. In 2014 Meagan Hubbart from the Global Leadership Academy (GLA) in Jeffreys Bay was crowned the Queen of Trash at the third annual GLA Trashy Fashion Show on August 29, 2014 - wearing a dress made from recyclable material by designer Anica Erasmus and sponsored by The Hair Workshop in Jeffreys Bay.

Erasmus, a grade 11-learner at JBay Academy, once considered a career in the fashion industry, but now she is dreaming of making her mark in the film industry - specialising in hair and make-up.

According to Erasmus, to be a successful designer a person must be creative and think out of the box. “You must be able to take chances and do something different.”

On the fashion front, Erasmus would love to design an outfit in silver for Jean Rivers, while being part of the team behind the How Do I Look Show, will be a dream come true.
