2015-10-01 06:00

A high-speed car chase along the road between Jeffreys Bay and Humansdorp resulted in the local police arresting two suspects after a 69-year-woman was overpowered and robbed in her Paradise Beach home in the early hours of this morning.

The victim was accosted by three suspects who robbed her of valuables including cell phones and cash. They then stole her red KIA Pinco and fled from her house.

The woman bravely contacted the Jeffreys Bay Police, who alerted all units in the area.

At 03:00 the police spotted the car on the road between Jeffreys Bay and Humansdorp road and a high-speed pursuit began.

The police managed to force the vehicle off the road and arrested two suspects after they attempted to flee into the bushes.

A third suspect escaped, but a manhunt is already underway to find the thug.

The Humansdorp Cluster Commander, Brigadier Jantjies, praised the efforts of his members and gave the assurance that the manhunt will continue until they arrest the third suspect
