AGNES Nel, a local Humansdorper for 35 years, lost her battle against cancer on Saturday, February 3.

Her granddaughter, Kerry Bell-Cross, describes her as gentle, compassionate, kind-hearted and humble. “She was the face of Kouga Scrap Metal and the mother of Bureau Street,” says Bell-Cross.

“God saw her becoming tired and a cure was not to be, so he put His arms around her and whispered “Come to me.”

She leaves behind her brothers and sisters, children, grandchildren, her great grandson and a void within the Kouga community.

Nel was diagnosed with cancer in May 2018.

Her memorial service will be held at the Full Gospel Church in Boskloof, Humansdorp at noon on February 9.
