WHO will be the winner of this year’s adrenaline-packed Global Leadership Academy Trolley Pro?

Will it be the toilet roll rolling first over the finish line, or will the concrete mixer come in its path leaving both the mouth-watering burger and camera in its dust? Or will the blue truck stop them dead in their tracks?

These trolleys are but a few of the various businesses competing in the annual GLA Trolley Pro at Fountains Mall from 10:00 this Saturday, April 23.

Twelve teams will be lining up on the runway at the parking area of the mall, and as they prepare for action, they know their efforts will all be for a good cause: all funds raised will go towards the constuction of the new GLA school building, the GLA Eco Campus.

The not-to-be-missed Trolley Pro kicks off at 09:30 with the judging of the twelve trolleys. A trolley parade and carnival through Fountains Mall will follow at 10:00. The parade will start at Woolworths and end at Game.

The first contestants - Fountains Mall, Cube Concrete, Tampa Bay Spur and Woodlands Dairy - will take to the track at 10:30, while Jeffreys Bay Spar, Renco, Beesland and Tapas will leave the staring blocks at 11:00. Kouga Express, Pick ’n Pay, True Technology and Slater’s Toy Magic will take on one another at 11:30.

The fun does not stop here. At 12:00 there is a special event for members of the public. Mommies with babies, contestants in wheelchairs and even those on skateboards will have the opportunity to race around the track.

The final race will take place at 12:15, with the prize-giving to follow at 12:45.

Jaffles, hot dogs, sosatie rolls, pancakes, cakes and coffee will be on sale. And a special treat for the children: water balloons.

Businesses to compete are:

. Cube Concrete represented by the 8A class

. Fountains Mall represented by the 8E class

. Tampa Bay Spur represented by the 8N class

. Woodlands Dairy represented by the 9A class

Vote for your favourite trolley

The public can vote for their favourite trolley via an SMS-line.

To vote, SMS the keyword TROLLEY followed by the name of the business to 45527. For example, TROLLEY Kouga Express. Each SMS costs R1.50.

Voting closes at 14:00 on April 23.

The class responsible for the trolley with the most votes will walk away with R2 000 from Fountains Mall.

Trolleys can be viewed at Fountains Mall and on the Kouga Express Facebook Page at Kouga Express Newspaper.

. Kouga Express is the official marketing partner of the GLA Trolley Pro, while Fountains Mall is the event sponsor.
