Art exhibition raises R20 000

2016-10-06 06:00

SOME R20 000 was raised at the first annual auction in aid of the JBay Recycling Project on September 23.

A total of 80 artworks were submitted by artists from as far afield as Argentina, and sold at a blind auction on the night attended by more than 100 guests.

The theme of the art exhibition was the testimony of food, and artworks ranged from beautifully decorated cakes to paintings, photographs and sculptures.

The exhibition not only gave local artists a platform to exhibit their artistic talents, but also gave people an opportunity to purchase the artworks at a reasonable price.

All the money raised on the evening will go towards stocking the “shop” at the JBay Recycling Project.
