TOOI lamppale en bome vanjaar pienk ter ondersteuning van kankerlyer Jeané Kunneke.

Oktober is Borskanker-bewusmakingsmaand en eersdaags sal die bome in die dorp in die allerfraaiste pienk lap getooi wees.

Die geregistreerde organisasie, die Jeané Kunneke Kankerfonds, en die Kan-kervereniging van Suid-Afrika (Kansa), werk vanjaar saam om fondse vir Kunneke in te samel.

Besighede en inwoners kan tot die projek en kankerbewustheid bedrae deur pienk materiaal om ’n boom of pilaar in hul omgewing vas te maak as deel van die Pink Trees for Pauline-inisiatief. Sodoende help hulle om fondse vir Kunneke en die kankervereniging in te samel.

Die Pienk Bome vir Pauline-projek is in 2012 vir die eerste keer deur ­Carol Ann van Jaarsveld op Graaff-Reinet van stapel gestuur ná sy haar ma en ouma – albei Pauline – aan kanker verloor het.

Sedertdien het die projek landwyd veld gewen en pryk menige dorp elke jaar in Oktober met pienk lap om bome, pale en pilare.

Materiaal kan teen R100 per pak aangekoop word.
