DIE gewilde cantando@algoa-koor tree op 22 Mei om 19:00 by die NG Kerk in Da Gamaweg, Jeffreysbaai op.

Dié koor is in 2016 deur Bouwer van Rooyen op die been gebring, met sy af-trede van Bloemfontein na Port Elizabeth.

Van Rooyen het die behoefte aan ’n vierstemmige gemeenskapskoor gesien, en oudisies gehou. Sedertdien gaan die koor van krag tot krag met lede vanuit Jeffreysbaai, Humansdorp, Despatch, Port Elizabeth, Kenton on Sea en Fort Beaufort.

’n Hoogtepunt op hul kalendar was die onlangse toer na Bloemfontein waar die koor hul susterskoor, bantandobloem - ook deur Van Rooyen gestig- ontmoet het. Hulle het saam optredes gelewer.

Cantando@Algoa se repertorium strek oor ’n wye spektrum: van geestelike tot klassieke werke.

Die program vir hul optrede in Jeffreysbaai sluit in Ave Verum Corpus van W.A. Mozart, Psalm 16 verwerk deur Awie van Wyk, die gewilde Anthem of Chess,Die Gang van Laurika Rauch en Afica Toto.

’n Kollekte sal tydens die optrede opge-neem word.

Die koor hou later vanjaar hul gewilde “Songs of Celebration” by die NG Kerk in Somerstrand, Alexandria en Somerset-Oos op. Hulle tree ook kwartaaliks by ’n aftreeoord op. Nog ’n hoogtepunt is hul optrede in Port Elizabeth saam met die Chamber Choir van Lucerne, München. Hulle sluit die jaar af met hul liefdadig-heidskonsert by Lake Farm in Port Elizabeth en hul jaareindkonsert in September.
