MILLENNIALS – the ‘notoriously entitled’, but engaging ever-youngsters – have been united in a common goal: to secure their favourite fragrant brew of coffee.

The engaging passion of Barista Amo, as young entrepreneur Amedeo Bisogno is affectionately known, to extract excellent coffee has inspired a heterogeneous segment of Jeffreys Bay to band together and toil tirelessly towards the opening of Fifth Wave Coffee on November 5.

Abundant love and creativity encapsulated in a cup have “enslaved” those who discovered the coffee gem to such an extent that youngsters painted, drilled, built and sawed late into the nights. It has been an inspiration to see how young and old work and joke and motivate each other to reach a collective objective.

Live music and new sounds are heard as fresh artists have volunteered to perform at this spot.

Amo says that coffee is the connector that breaks walls, that lets people from all over the globe interact and share – a characteristic of Jeffreys Bay as a hub for surfers and tourists.

“In a time of information and a virtual world people miss the intimacy of interaction. They are disconnected from reality, but a safe space like this allows them to connect, share, laugh, learn, tell stories and just “be”on ground level.

“Fifth Wave is not mine – it is ours. And here we can cherish our togetherness, make new memories and build ourselves,” says 25 year old Amo.

His rich brew is an inspiration of its own, but people also flock to indulge in the toffee, butterscotch, cookies and cream, Turkish delight or apple crumble hot, liquid decadence.
