Easter soccer tournament to be held

THE City All Stars FC is set to host an Easter Soccer Tournament in Kouga from March 30 to April 2.

Some 32 soccer teams from the Eastern Cape and Western Cape are expected to take part in the tournament.

According to event organiser Mongezi Khatshiwe, the aim of the tournament is to give the local economy a welcome boost, as well as to promote soccer in the area.

Great prizes are up for grabs. The winners will walk away with R20 000 in prize money, gold medals and a trophy. The runner ups will receive R10 000 and silver medals, while the team placed third will bag prize money of R5 000 and bronze medals.

The tournament will take place at the Humansdorp Stadium, Kruisfontein Complex, Humansdorp Kassie Field and Tokyo Sexwale Stadium. The entry fee is R5 for adults, R2 for children and R10 for vehicles.
