REEL up for five days of fishing action in the Gamtoos Valley this September.

The 29th annual Gam 1000 Angling Competition, hosted by the Gamtoos Angling Club, will cast off at the Big Fish Camping Grounds on the Gamtoos River between Jeffreys Bay and Port Elizabeth from September 30 to October 5.

The festivities will kick off with a before-party on September 29 for all the anglers to get to know one another.

Officials will be on the water for measure and release only. No fish will be weighed.

To qualify, fish need to be kept alive and swim away from the boat. Dead fish will be disqualified.

Details for Weigh Masters will be in the booklets provided to entrants.

Great prizes will be up for grabs.

The winner will walk away with R20 000, the runner-up with R10 00 and the angler placed third will take home R5 000.

All anglers must be entered prior to the competition.
