THE teams have been chosen . . . now it is time for some creative building.

The annual Global Leadership Academy (GLA) Trolley Pro for 2018 is picking up speed; the teams are assigned and businesses and learners are thinking up a storm behind closed doors to come up with the most unique ideas for the best looking and fastest trolley in the Kouga region.

Sixteen well-known businesses will line up at Fountains Mall at 11:00 on May 5 to go head-to-head, battling it out for top-honours as the winning team of the ultimate trolley race.

Racers need to be tough and fast to get into the finals, as only the top five teams will advance to the last round.

The race will be preceded by a trolley march through the mall and parking area at 10:00.

Pick n Pay will defend their title as previous race winner. Jeffreys Bay Superspar cashed in on second place, while Top Trusses worked their way to a third place last year.

Summertree Civils will pull out all the stops to, once again, be named the Best Pit Stop of the Day and the winner of the Best Trolley via SMS votes.

Old favourites, such as Tapas Restaurant, Fountains Mall, Woodlands Dairy, Jeffreys Bay Superspar, Pick ’n Pay, Slater’s Toy Magic and Tampa Bay Spur, will return to the battle field. Newcomers to the Trolley Pro include Dog Sense, Luhil Construction and Stokker & Associates.

The public can vote for their favourite trolley via an SMS-line.

The winning class of the best trolley will reap a R1 000 voucher from Fountains Mall in Jeffreys Bay.

One lucky voter will win a R500 gift voucher from Fountains Mall.

The Kouga Express is the official marketing partner of the GLA Trolley Pro, while Fountains Mall is the event sponsor.

The results, as well as photos of the event, will be published in the Kouga Express of Thursday, May 10.
