(2 - 17 July)

The World Championship Tour’s Corona Open JBay is set to return to Jeffreys Bay’s famous Supertubes, during the Jeffreys Bay Winterfest, with a waiting period of July 2 to July 17. Surfers include John John Florence, Kelly Slater, Jordy Smith, Filipe Toledo, tour rookie Mikey February, Steph Gilmore, Clarissa Moore, Lakey Peterson and Tatiana Weston-Web.


(5 - 7 July & 12 - 14 July)

Featuring a combination of twelve top bands and artists, the complimentary Corona Sunset Sessions will take place at Pepper Street from July 5 to 7 and from July 12 to 14.

Slake Adventures will host their fifth JBay Winterfest Funduro this year. The main loop consists of 15km single track and is measured as easy-medium in difficulty. The terrain will consist of both flat and technical driving. The event will take place at Seashells Vlakte just above the Mondplaas petrol station from 09:00.

(8 July)

The Coldwater Swim Classic is set to take place at Marina Martinique at 09:30 on July 8. Swimmers can experience the thrill and challenge of swimming a triple mile in sub 15-degree water where swimmers wear a speedo type costume, goggles and a standard silicone swim cap.

Endurade JBay X Trail Run

The Endurade JBayX is unique in concept, entailing three individual 20km trail runs, all starting 12-hours apart. The total distance covered will be just over 60km. A 10km trail run and 5km fun beach run/ walk will take place at 09:00 and 10:00 respectively on Sunday, July 15. Both these events are suitable for families, friends, supporters and first time trail runners. The event takes place at the Supertubes Park inn Jeffreys Bay from July 13 to 15.

JBay Windfarm MTB Classic

Established as one of the top events on the Eastern Cape off-road calendar, the JBay Wind Farm MTB Classic promises to once again be a highlight of the JBay Winterfest. The 2018 event will offer something for riders of a range of fitness and skill levels. With the start (and finish) at the ‘Kabeljous Hub’. There will be three routes: 25km, 50km and 85km. All three route will traverse the spectacular JBay Wind Farm. The event takes place on Saturday, July 14.

Skins Fishing Competition

The 6th Winterfest Skins Fishing Competition will take place in Jeffreys Bay on July 14. The event has seen massive growth over the past five years, and is now one of the biggest and most unique shore angling competitions in South Africa. The competition is divided into six mini comps or ‘skins’, each lasting one hour. The person who catches the highest-scoring fish for that hour, will win the R3 000 cash ‘skin’ and any other prizes allocated to that skin.
