DIE laaste eer aan Jeané Kunneke (26) van Jeffreysbaai, wat Vrydagoggend haar stryd teen kanker verloor het, sal Sondag tydens ’n gedenkdiens gebring word.

Die gedenkdiens vind om 17:00 by die Kabeljousstrand plaas. Daar word gevra dat diegene wat die gedenkdiens bywoon, pers en wit dra. Balonne sal tydens die diens vrygelaat word.

Kunneke se roudiens vind vandag in Sasolburg, haar geboortedorp, plaas.

“So het ons geliefste engel haar vlerke gekry. Sy het wel haar stryd teen kanker verloor, maar sy het die ewige lewe gewen,” sê vriendin Ronel Serfontein.

“Ons harte is stukkend. Ons mis haar verskriklik. Namens die familie wil ons baie dankie sê vir almal se ongelooflike bystand, gebed en ondersteuning.”

Kunneke is in Mei 2015 met fase 4-kolon-kanker gediagnoseer.

Na die diagnose in 2015, is met chemoterapie begin en het die kolonprobleem grootliks verdwyn. Daar was egter uitsaaiings in die lewer wat ook mettertyd minder geword het, maar later is behandeling weer hervat nadat ’n verdere tumor ontdek is. Die behandeling is egter gestaak, omdat dit haar ernstig aangetas het en sy met delirium gediagnoseer is.

Sy laat haar man, Dewald, en hul twee dogters, Dianè en Junay, agter.
