Kouga ready to look after the influx

KOUGA Municipality is gearing itself up for a busy festive season as holiday-makers are expected to descend upon the region’s coastal towns.

Contingency measures has been put in place to deliver services without fail.

Four refuse trucks - two mesh trucks and two compactor trucks were acquired, and two extra trucks are being hired to deal with high volumes of waste.

Four additional sewer trucks are also being hired to deal with the demand. This is in addition to chemical toilets which we will distribute to strategic busy spots across the towns.

Additional staff will work from December to the end of January, including a dedicated plumbing team to deal with pu-blic ablution facilities

Sidewalks and road verges are being cleaned, while enough asphalt is being procured for continuous and fixing of potholes.
