ONE . . . two . . three . . . Go!

Stalk your opponents through passages and amazing lighting effects, take aim, shoot and withdraw. Move stealthily forward, take cover behind one of the various obstacles, and go in for the ‘kill’.

You want to take out your armed opponent before they get you - whether you have to spin, duck or weave.

Laser Game

Fans of, and newbies to, laser tag can expect an exhilarating adventure and adrenaline-pumping fun at the newly opened Laser Game - a 190m² indoor laser tag arena suitable for young and old.

Up to six players, aged six years and older, can battle it out in one round of 20 minutes - either as a team or individually.

Laser tag enthusiast and co-owner Aalwyn Venter, who played laser tag as a high school learner, says, “Before participants enter the play arena, they will receive a detailed briefing. Each one will then be given a laser gun suit and a laser gun.”

And do not worry, mom, they are totally safe.

Then it is time to battle.

“With an unlimited number of bullets rounding off their arsenal, players will make their way through a network of obstacles - illuminated by ultraviolet lights - to ‘shoot down’ their opponents,” says Venter.

“Once hit, participants need to reload. This will take a couple of seconds - leaving the particular player vulnerable.”

“The game gets the adrenaline rushing, and the challenge, strategy and teamwork needed to win make it a fun activity for kids and adults alike.”

Sharpshooter or not, players emerge with excitement and giggles to examine their scores, listed under names such as Sniper, Kamakazi, Destroyer, Warrior Commando and Invulnerable.

Why bring laser tag to Jeffreys Bay?

“So that more people can enjoy the game,” says Venter who had wanted to open a laser tag centre for years. “Laser Game provides a safe and comfortable playing environment that will not be affected by the rain. Parents can watch their children play on the television screen in the coffee shop that is stocked with the best pancakes, waffles and milkshakes.

Parents not up for the battle, can enjoy the coffee menu.

“Also in the pipeline are 12 old-school arcade games.

“Furthermore, one can book Laser Game for all types of events, such as birthday parties, team building and corporate events.”
