THREE top surfers from Kouga will battle it out at the 18th Billabong Junior Series in Durban from June 22 to 25.

Joshe Faulkner and Sebastian Williams from Jeffreys Bay will compete in the u.18 boys division, while Chrystal Hulett will surf the waves in the u.18 girls division.

The two top finishers in the u.18 boys division will be awarded prestigious wildcards into the SSA Ballito Pro Trails presented by Billabong in Durban on June 26. The all South African 32-man trails event will determine the last remaining spot in the R4 million, QS10 000 rated Ballito Pro presented by Billabong.

Both Faulkner and Williams are well-tra-velled surfers with the desire to do well. They also have a good track record in Durban.

Hulett has improved tremendously over the last 18 months and is fit and strong. She is a tough competitor and with all her experience in Jeffreys Bay and St Francis, she will be one of the main competitors at the event.

. The Billabong Series is the longest running series in the world and has spawned the likes of Jordy Smith and Bianca Buitendag - both currently competing in the World Surf League’s Championship Tour.
