Man arrested for breaking into vehicle

A brazen thief was caught red-handed by G4S officers after breaking into a vehicle that was parked at the Kouga Municipality in Da Gama Road.

After witnessing the incident that took place during brought daylight on April 8, a resident followed the suspect and brought it to the attention of G4S officers that was patrolling the area.

The suspect tried to run away and even used a ladder to climb on the roof of a house, but all in vein. He was arrested shortly afterwards by officers Abie Tony and Wilfred Sibagu.

The stolen items - a laptop, wallet and handbag - were recovered.

The local police are investigating the incident.
