TACKLE an obstacle course with your four-legged friend, dance to the sound of local artists, conquer a bike challenge, enjoy locally-made products and swoop through the air – all at the Melk Fees.The well-known Milkwood Market in Jeffreys Bay will hold their first Melk Fees on Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, in celebration of their second birthday.Local artists – Jim and Jane, Mello and Jive, Michelle, Kobus and Karla, and the Wandering Watsons – will take to the festival stage, while Paw Patrol and a ‘poppekas’ show will keep the children entertained.Visitors to the festival can fill their baskets to the brim with delicious food and treats and enjoy a relaxed picnic under the big Yellowwood trees at the dam.Enjoy all the strawberry products, milkshakes, cocktails, ‘melkkos’, ice cream and amarula milktart for sale.There will also be various arts and craft stalls, as well as fresh vegetables and flowers.Also on the festival menu is a family bike challenge, a K9 skills challenge and thrill zone. K9 Skills Animal-lovers can showcase their four-legged friend’s canine skills at the basic obstacle course challenge in aid of the JBay Animal Rescue Sanctuary at 14:00 on Saturday.Obstacles include jump through a loop, throw and fetch, balance the bar, roll the ball, tussle between cones, jump the bar, crawl or run under the bars and shake hands.To enter at a cost of R50 per dog, contact 083 320 4173.All dogs must be on a lead. Thrill Zone Gypsy Events is set to host a heart-racing and gravity-defying outdoor adventure thrill zone at the festival from 08:00 to 20:00 on Saturday, November 30, and from 10:00 15:00 on Sunday, December 1.The flying trapeze offers fun for the whole family: whether you are three years old, or 103.Other activities at the Adventure Thrill Zone include bungy bounce, a giant wave slide, a mechanical surf board and various inflatables.
