IS it a bird? Is it a pirate? Or is it a lifeguard? No . . . it is Nico Malan High School’s annual Interhouse Athletics on January 26.

Apart from being a great day for equalling and breaking records, the various team leaders added plenty of colour and fun to the day.

Dressed as lifeguards, the Dorp Team made an impressive entrance with the help of the local National Sea Rescue Institute. The Jeffreys Bay Team brought their pirates ashore, while the Hostel Team took participants on a walk on the wild side.

At the end of the day, the Hostel Team raked in a whopping score of 1 444, while the Jeffreys Bay Team and Dorp Team respectively scored 1 065 and 966 points.
