OYSTER Bay Lodge - a four star, coastal reserve - achieved a second place for sustainable success with Chamäleon Reisen, a leading German tour operator.

According to Oyster Bay Lodge owner, Hans Verstrate, they are proud to add this prestigious award to their winning repertoire - which includes a Certified Fair Trade Tourism Destination award for a number of years.

“We have been hosting Chamäleon groups since September 2015,” says Verstrate. “They aim at ‘unforgettable experiences’ and the ‘goosebumps moment’, in combination with climate protection and improved sustainability successes.”

To determine the winners, an assessment completed by guests were conducted. The assessment consists of 50 points that focus on sustainability and feasibility.

The lodge improved by 14 basis points compared to last year.

This achievement and growth show dedication to protecting natural resources and commitment to exemplary social standards,” says Verstrate.

Oyster Bay Lodge has been invited to attend the International Tourism Borse in Berlin on March 6, 2019.
