IN light of the spike in criminal activities over the festive season, the Jeffreys Bay Police are hard at work to reduce the crime rate in 2016.

According to police spokesperson captain Gerda Swart, the Jeffreys Bay Police Station have several operations planned for this year. “They already started to implement some of these plans,” says Swart.

Plans to combat crime effectively include increased visibility, visits to shopping malls, roadblocks and pamphlet distribution.

“We will furthermore continue with our stop-and-search operations,” says Swart.

“There are also several operations planned by our national office, which we implement on a local level.”
