PoliClinic to host aquathon

POLICLINIC in Jeffreys Bay is set to host their second annual 3-hour aquathon from 12:30 to 16:00 on November 12 - for a chance to secure a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

This event will form part of the fourth annual Worldwide Aquatic Day.

Over 88 countries will take the plunge on this day to help raise funds for a charity of their choice.

The aquathon in Jeffreys Bay will take place under the expert eye of hydrotherapist Yolande Burger, who has been at the head of water aerobics and rehabilitation classes at the PoliClinic for the past four years. She has been giving water aerobics and rehabilitation classes since 1989 and currently boasts 55 patients from all over South Africa between the ages of 10 and 89. She has a qua-lification in CPR and developmental pshycology, is SAWFA registered and works closely with various chiropractors.

Burger will be assisted by Lorraine Botha and Annemarie Müller. The aquathon will be recorded on DVD and judged by a panel of experts in America.

The public is welcome to take part in the event.

The entry fee is R10 per person and the proceeds will be donated to the local SPCA.
