Joubertina Helping Hands and New Venture Creation have joined hands to assist 35 local aspirant entrepreneurs with learnerships to make their dreams become a reality: to start their own small business.

The project, called Start a Business, kicked off at the Multi-Purpose Centre in Ravinia, Joubertina last Friday. It will see learners put a business plan together over the course of six to nine months.

The programme consists of 11 core module units, 10 fundamental module units and six elective module units.

“These units are designed in such a way to give each individual a well-rounded qualification,” says Graham Ward from New Venture Creation.

Each learner, furthermore, received a tablet and data for research, as well as all the course material.

Learners will meet once a week with trainers from Joubertina Helping Hands for face-to-face facilitation.

“Should the business plan have potential, we will try to source the necessary funds from the government and private sector, to get the specific enterprise off the ground,” says Ward.
