R10 000 reward offered to help nab robber

A reward of R10 000 is offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person that stole valuable documents from a house in Uys Street, Jeffreys Bay.

According to homeowner Ian White, the suspect gained entry to the house through the balcony sliding door in the early hours of Monday morning, February 12.

“The only items stolen are two similar black briefcases,” says White.

“The one briefcase contained all my work for school, while the second briefcase contained very important documents relating to a current court case. Both were open, so it could easily be seen that the contents were only documentary.

“The one briefcase was fewer than 20cm from a modern laptop, which the suspect did not take. Also in plain sight were four power banks, two cellphones, a tablet, a computer, my Identification Document and passport.

“We find it very strange that nothing of monetary value was taken. Was this perhaps to intimidate us?”

White has since installed an additional lock and an alarm system, as well as non-lethal security measures.

Anyone with information, can contact the investiga-ting officer Warrant Officer Rispel at 081 400 7606.
