Residents at wit’s end over speeding

2017-11-16 06:00

DESPITE numerous complaints to the Kouga Municipality and near car crashes, residents have yet to get the municipality to install speed curbing measures on one of Paradise Beach’s most dangerous roads.

According to fed-up residents, they have to put up with motorists speeding down Immergroen Avenue daily - whether it is motor vehicles or trucks. Without any regard for the bad state of the road.

The road, considered as one of the main roads in the area, leads to the Paradise Beach Caravan Park and several houses.

Residents now demand the municipality to install speed reducing measures, such as speed humps, not only at Immergroen Avenue, but also on other roads where speeding is a huge problem.

The Traffic Department is currently investigating the best way to address the problem in a sustainable way.
