“ROCKABILLY Country” sounds will echo off the Rietberg Mountains which provide the backdrop for the annual SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees.

It will be a celebration of 40 years of country music on Sunday June 26, with South African legends entertaining the crowds on the final day of the 2016 festival, which opens on Friday, June 24.

The country legends rocking the wild and wonderful main Windhoek stage from 11h30 am on Sunday include Lance James better known by his Wildsfees fans as “Big Daddy”, Barbara Ray or “Queen of Country”, Clive Bruce “Midnight Cowboy”, Jody Wayne “Little Jo” and Tommy Dell “The Killer” together with the Rodeo Girls.

It will be the first time the performers are together on stage in the Eastern Cape for their 2016 show.

Much-loved country songs such as “Ballad of the Green Berets”, “Release Me” and “One Last Kiss” are just a few of the favourites that will rock the Sundays River Valley this June.

On Saturday evening reunited group Eden will be on stage. They will be joined by Juan Boucher, Brendan Peyper, Desmond Wells, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Arno Jordaan, Emo Adams and Bok van Blerk.

On Friday evening the artists are Adam, Broers, Andriette Norman, Snotkop and Dr Victor & the Rasta Rebels.

On Sunday be sure to wear your boots and Stetson. There will be spot prizes for the best dressed Cowboy and Cowgirl.

Entrance to the main arena is included in the ticket price for the festival, which caters for the whole family from nine in the morning till late at night.
