Service delivery meetings to kick off

2019-06-13 06:00

A series of service delivery report-back meetings will kick off next week.

Kouga Executive Mayor Horatio Hendricks says the meetings would be an opportunity for communities to discuss service successes, challenges and plans for their ward with the municipal leadership.

“We address matters that were raised during the recent Integrated Development Plan (IDP) community consultation sessions,” says Hendricks.

He says wards had been grouped together for the meetings to make them as accessible as possible for residents. All meetings will start at 18:00.

The first meeting will take place at the Weston Community Hall on June 18 and will cater for the ward 13 communities of Weston, Rooidraai and the surrounding farms.

This will be followed by a meeting for the Sea Vista section of ward 1 at the Sea Vista Hall on June 19.

Ocean View, Tokyo Sexwale and Pellsrus (wards 2 and 14) will meet at the Pellsrus Community Hall on June 20.

Wards 3, 8 and 11 will then have a combined meeting at the Newton Hall on June 24, followed by a session for wards 4 and 5 at the Kruisfontein Civic Centre on June 25.

On June 26, wards 6, 12 and 15, including KwaNomzamo, the lower Golf Course and upper Golf course, will meet in a tent at the KwaNomzamo Hall.

On June 27, the Loerie section of ward 7 will have their report-back meeting at the Loerie Community Hall, followed by the meeting for the Thornhill section of Ward 7 at the Katriena Felix Hall on 1 July.

Wards 9 and 13, including Centerton, Philipsville, Stofwolk and old Hankey, are scheduled to meet on July 2, while wards 10 and 13, including Patensie, Ramaphosa Village and Andrieskraal, will meet on July 3 at the Dan Sandi Hall.

The report-back meeting for ward 12 (Cape St Francis and St Francis) will take place at the St Francis Bowling Club on July 4.

Paradise Beach and Aston Bay (wards 12 and 14) will meet at the Aston Bay Hall on July 8, followed by a meeting for Ward 1, including Oyster Bay and Umzamowethu, at the Oyster Bay Community Hall on July 9.

The meetings will conclude on July 10, with a meeting for the remainder of ward 15 at the Humansdorp Country Club.
