THE Kouga Municipality has continued its community outreach programme of issuing title deeds to long-awaiting home-owners, with more than 200 of these handed out this week.

The latest hand-over took place in Kwa-Nomzamo, where the Methodist Church was packed with community members coming to collect the document that proves ownership of the properties they’ve been staying on for years.

Executive Mayor Horatio Hendricks said the municipality would continue with the programme until all title deeds are with their rightful owners.

“It is heart-warming to see especially old people who have been waiting for years, filled with absolute joy at receiving their title deeds. It is during these occasions that we get to see what this means to the residents,” he said.
