THE Sea Vista-based St Francis Bay Galaxy Football Club u.17 team beat seven other Kouga teams to take first place and the floating trophy at the Nordex-sponsored Mandela Day football tournament held on July 21 and 22 at the Humansdorp Sports Field, making their coach local volunteer Kaizer Makisi, extremely proud.

The u.14 team shared in the honours with the u.14 Team Player of the Tournament trophy awarded to Nico Malan High School learner (former St Francis College) Sine “Messi” Sakhi.

A great achievement considering his team were competing against 11 other Kouga teams.

In addition, the u.14 team’s popular coach, Thomas Kuka, claimed the trophy for u.14 Coach of the Tournament.
