THE 19th annual Algoa FM Bloodline Day will take place at Fountains Mall on July 13 from 10:00 to 18:00.

Calling on all existing and first-time blood donors to donate a unit of blood on this day, the expectation is to collect 70 units of blood in Jeffreys Bay alone - adding to the combined 800 units of blood that will help to alleviate the notorious blood shortages synonymous with this time of the year.

Every donor will be treated to a delicious doughnut sponsored by Pick ’n Pay.

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) encourages all residents to donate blood as part of their 67 minutes for Mandela Day.

Stay tuned to Algoa FM on July 13 for regular updates on the progress of collecting 800 units in one day.

A person can donate blood every 56 days and a single unit of blood can be separated into three different components that can help save three lives. People between 16 and 65 years of age, who weigh more than 50kg, are in good health and most importantly, have a sexually safe lifestyle, can donate blood.

Blood Buddy holds Algoa FM in his hand, as the build up to the 19th annual Algoa FM Bloodline Day which aims to collect 800 units of blood in one day, takes place on 13 July 2016.
