Thorn bushes anger residents

2016-01-21 06:00

THORN bushes that have mysteriously found their way to Kabeljauws Beach more than four months ago are not only a sight for sore eyes, but they are also a danger for beach goers.

Despite people reporting this to the Kouga Municipality on several occasions, nothing has been done to date.

According to resident Brian Esselaar (84), who has daily picked up rubbish and debris at Kabeljauws beach for almost the past two years, the thorn bushes are now halfway covered in sand - making the removal of the thorn bushes even more difficult.

“This poses a danger for all beachgoers as the thorns can injure them at any time,” says Esselaar.

No comment could be obtained from the municipality at the time of going to print.
