Over 40 local football teams will be spitting grass this March as they battle it out for the coveted Teams Kouga Cup.

Presented by the Kouga Local Football Association, the South African Football Association Kouga 2016 Teams Kouga Cup is set to take over the region from March 25 to April 3 - a huge feat as 41 teams will take to the field over a period of only six days.

Only local players with a player card will be allowed to compete in the tournament. It is compulsory for all SAFA Kouga teams to participate.

The competition will kick off with a point system, after which players will battle it out over 16 rounds, followed by the quarter finals and the finals.

Owing to the limited number of days over which the tournament will take place, matches will be 30 minutes a side instead of the usual 45 minutes a side.

The Teams Kouga Cup will take place at the sports field in Hankey. Tickets cost R5 for adults, R2 for children and R10 per vehicle. Contact Mongezi Khatshiwe at 082 668 4739.
