Vier sterf in botsing op N2

’n Botsing op die N2 naby Stormsrivier het verlede Maandagaand die lewe van vier mans geëis.

Die ongeluk het omstreeks 19:45 naby Sanddrif gebeur toe die bestuurder van ’n insleepvoertuig blykbaar reg van voor teen ’n Kia-voertuig gebots het.

“Die bestuurder van die insleepvoertuig het na bewering eers van agter in ’n Toyota Conquest vasgery en toe na regs geswenk. Hy het teen die Kia gebots, wat in die aankomende rigting op pad was,” sê polisiewoordvoerder lt. Gerda Swart.

Die vier insittendes van die Kia is op die toneel dood verklaar.

Hulle was Asrile Afrika (42) van Storms-rivier, Henry Pikanie (50), ook van Storms-rivier, Adrian Vermeulen (48) van Karee-douw en Sbonelo Mongezi van Loerie.

Die oorledenes was uit die rigting van Loerie na Stormsrivier onderweg.

Die insittendes van die insleepvoertuig, ’n man en ’n vrou, is met beserings in ’n plaaslike hospitaal opgeneem. Die bestuurder van die Conquest, ’n vrou van St. Francisbaai, is ongedeerd. Swart sê die polisie ondersoek ’n saak van strafbare manslag.
