LOCAL beauty Nicaile Fevrier, a grade 12 learner at Nico Malan High School in Humansdorp, needs her hometown’s support to be crowned Miss High School South Africa for 2018.

With a passion for community work and hoping to make a lasting difference - even if it is only in the life of one person - Nicaile is one of 24 semi-finalists selected out of hundreds of entries from across the country. One of her responsibilities as a pageant semi-finalist, organised and hosted by GEES! Entertainment with the objective to empower young girls through education - is to raise R2 000 for charity. She must furthermore participate in charity work.

Nicaile, who finds her joy and happiness in helping others, says, “I am extremely honoured to have been chosen and given the opportunity to make a difference in my community.

“As part of my community work I will visit orphanages in the area, the Humansdorp SPCA and the Jeffreys Bay Recycling Project. I will also raise money to buy toiletries, stationery and blankets for the less fortunate.”

Why does she want to be Miss High School South Africa 2018?

“To be a role model and make a difference,” says Nicaile who plays hockey and enjoys writing, photography and music.

“My dream is to become a foundation phase teacher. I believe a teacher makes the biggest impact on a child’s life. I want to change lives.

“’My greatness is not what I have, but what I give. Life is about giving to make others happy.”
