Wolkbreuk in Kouga, KouKamma bring welkome reën

WYDVERSPREIDE en welkome reën het Saterdag oor groot dele van die Oos-Kaap uitgesak.

Sowat 12 mm reën het in Nelson Mandelabaai geval en 19 mm is in die metro se opvangsgebied in Kareedouw gemeet.

In die binneland het meer as 23 mm reën geval by Mid­dleton (Henry’s Flats) en 39 mm by Queenstown.

Volgens Garth Sampson, woordvoerder van die weerkantoor, was daar ’n wolkbreuk in die berge in die Middelburg-omgewing.

In die Willowmore-streek het 30 mm reën by die Bhejane-wildreservaat uitgesak en die berg se afloopwater het damme volgemaak.

Adriana Theunissen het op Facebook gesê: “Water het letterlik in die pad afgeloop. Ons is diep dankbaar.”

Volgens Sampson is die volgende reënval in by die opvangsgebiede gemeet:

  • Joubertina: 6,8 mm
  • Kareedouw: 19 mm
  • Kougadam: 18,5 mm
  • Patensie: 23,2 mm
  • Swartkops: 7,9 mm
