FIFTEEN people were injured after a bakkie and taxi collided on Dennis Shepstone Drive near Sweetwaters, on Tuesday evening.

ER24 spokesperson Annine Siddall said when ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the taxi in a field with passengers climbing out of it’s emergency escape window.

“It is believed the taxi rolled three metres down a bank after colliding with the bakkie.

“Two of the 15 patients sustained moderate injuries,” Siddall said.

She said young children were among the 13 passengers who sustained minor injuries.

“ER24 transported one patient to Edendale Hospital and five to Northdale Hospital for further medical care.

“Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” she said.
