‘CAT’ among the pigeons

2015-07-01 06:05

IN reference to Venolin Govender’s letter regarding the acronym CAT.

I think Govender is spending too much time concentrating on the frame instead of looking at the bigger picture contained therein.

Confusion may exist in the mind of Govender regarding the acronym, but to the man on the streets of Pietermaritzburg, I think we all know exactly who is being referred to.

The birth of this crime-fighting unit in Pietermaritzburg is as a result of a rise in violent which he concedes has noticeably increased. He must not be clouded in his thoughts - violent crime has increased not because of the emergence of CAT. Furthermore, Govender seems to know a lot about the “real” elite CAT unit that is highly skilled and used in the protection of the president.

My suggestion is that Govender contact this unit immediately. Their presence is needed urgently at the Waterkloof Airforce Base as it seems that foreigners are entering and leaving the country without the knowledge of our nation’s ministry of state security.

It seems it is easier for foreigners and criminals to enter or leave our country through Waterkloof Airforce Base than OR Tambo International.

Govender’s assistance in this regard will be highly appreciated by civil society. I look forward to Venolin Govender’s next letter. Maybe it will contain a glimmer of optimism than waning pessimism that has become synonymous to Govender’s script.
