Don’t rely on government

2015-10-15 06:00

SOUTH Africans need to rely less on the government and learn to empower themselves, the ANC said on Sunday.

“We have done a lot to ensure that we can lift our people out of poverty,” social transformation sub-committee chairperson Lindiwe Sisulu told reporters during a briefing in Midrand where the party was holding its national general council meeting.

“The most basic things that needed to be put in place, we are still rolling out. But we would like now to concentrate on empowering our people to be the engine of their own development and getting themselves out of poverty.”
