Lembethe Canoe Club hosts Dam to Dam Canoe Race

DAM to Dam Canoe Race has arrived and will be taking place this weekend from 24 to 25 October. The race starts at the Albert Falls Dam and race down to Cumberland Farm on Saturday and then continues on Sunday from Cumberland farm to Nagle Dam.

Both these dams are located on the uMngeni River outside Pietermaritzburg.

This race has been organised by th e Lembethe Canoe club which was formed in the late nineties by the late Robert Lembethe.

It is based in the Valley of 1000 hills at Nagle Dam.

The club has produced household athletes like Thulani Mbanjwa, the first black man who won the Duzi Canoe Marathon, Lucas Mthalane, Loveday Zondi and many more.
