THE Tembaletu Trust will be initiating a new and exciting project targeting crafters across all seven local municipalities of UMgungundlovu District Municipality, Msunduzi, Mkhambathini, Richmond, Impendle, Umgeni and Umshwati.

The project will offer a variety of services ranging from basic information and advice to skills workshops relevant to the craft sector.

Some of the information, advice and training will cover product development, business skills, craft co-ops and life skills.

The project will also offer a day-long, once-a-month craft advice clinic in each of the municipalities where practising crafters will receive information, advice and support to enhance their livelihood as a crafter.

Twenty crafters will be accommodated per local municipality in the skills-training workshops however, the craft advice clinics will be open to all crafters.

Crafters interested in joining the project can contact the project manager at the Tembaletu Trust, Kay Bhagwandhin at 033 346 1106, email kaybhagwan or visit Tembaletu Trust offices at 5 Hartford Road, Pentrich. - Supplied
