Public glad that Ukhosi concert was cancelled

Zandile Dubazana

Believe me you don’t want to know, I was so glad that they’ve decided to cancel the concert this year. When I saw the kombis with loud music young girls drinking in public like yesterday [Sunday], it makes me wonder what kind of a parent will allow a young girl to behave like that in public. What a disgrace.

Nalini Ramrethan

I think that although this concert encourages the bad element, it is not solely to blame. Let’s face it, this is the way these youth who seem to be the authority of it all generally behaves; only that now it is in the full public view. They are a disgrace .sad that these will get all the cream of the jobs, places in universities and colleges, while the really deserving will be left out because they didn’t qualify due to petty reasons. SAD.

I could not have said it better and I agree 100% ! I was utterly disgusted with what I saw yesterday [Sunday], I wanted to take photos for people to see what happened there but I was way too scared to even slow my car down too much, I feared for my four year-old and my own life. To go into detail about what I saw just makes me sick! Gosh, I hope the right people catch a wake up and do something about this!

FOLLOWING the stabbing of Siyabonga Mbatha (17) from Mooi River at Invesco Centre on Sunday night during the chaos that ensued after the crowds realised that the Ukhosi concert was not taking place, people took to Facebook to air their views
