ELEVEN-year old Epworth pupil, Robyn Lowe, has been selected to represent South Africa as a member of the SA Water Ski team at the Youth European Africa Championships in Rome, Italy from 5 to 9 August.

Robyn has already made a name for herself in the water-skiing world, winning the U12 SA slalom championships for the past two years as well as being crowned the All Africa Champion in 2014.

Unfortunately, she was unable to compete in the 2015 SA Championships due to a broken leg sustained during a fall while training.

Robyn first learnt to ski at the age of five and entered her first SA Water Ski Championships in the slalom event when she was nine.

She is coached by brothers Travis and Jared Fisher, who are Springbok water skiers.

A typical week of training - summer and winter - involves running slalom sets three times a week before school and then working through at least three sets a day over the weekends.

Robyn lives with her parents and elder brother, who is also a top skier in the U17 age group, on Satellite Dam, near Crammond
