While ROCLM rapidly expanded its reach globally, it remained faithful and true to the biblical principle of servicing the need of their immediate domestic environment.

“I wish I could say that it was smooth sailing all the way. On the contrary, we were tested financially, materially and some were even physically tested with illness. Yet, despite what sometimes seemed like insurmountable obstacles, we stood upon the promises of God and persevered”, said Naidoo.

Presiding elder Celvan Pakkari summated the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on their corporate journey, saying: “We are deeply thankful to God, who has guided us with great precision and detail. His faithfulness has sustained us.”

Pakkari also added that although ROLCM has achieved much, the task ahead of them still remains unabated and more urgent than ever.

Due to the multifaceted nature of the ministry, infrastructure was needed to facilitate its mandate, which led to the acquisition of the Albert Falls Guest Lodge and Conference Centre (AFCC), RivLife Community Centre and the RivLife Country Estate.

Albert Falls Conference Centre (AFCC) opened its doors on April 5, 2004, and although initially the facility was not completely developed, it was soon reconfigured to suit the needs of those attending international conferences, seminars and forums.

At the time of purchase, the estate had an occupancy of only forty people sharing but the property soon became refurbished and upgraded to accommodate its growing numbers and, after extensive development to the property, Albert Falls Conference Centre grew to be a reputable conference venue and accommodation in KwaZulu-Natal. Its patronage extended beyond national to international guests.

Apart from it being used for the local ministry, the facility also became a well sought-after location for churches, youth groups and business concern and those who sought solace in the serenity of the countryside.

For River of Life, the establishment and developments made to the conference centre and guest lodge were not only testament to the journey that the church has walked but to the calibre of their congregation, who unwaveringly supported each decision during the building process.

The time, energy and resources invested by the staff and volunteers propelled a project which would have taken months to complete, less than 30 days to accomplish. Today, the Albert Falls Conference Centre and Guest Lodge articulate the humble narrative of a faithful, diligent and determined people. Albert Falls Conference Centre also served as a financial wing to help generate resources to fund the Rivlife International Community Centre.
