ABEMBONI yamatekisi uMgungundlovu Regional Taxi Association ngokuxhaswa osomabhizinisi banikelele izikole ezingaphezu kuka 50 ngomfaniswano wesikole ngoLwesithathu emcimbini obuse City Hall.

Kulomcimbi kunikelelwe abafundi abangu 895 ngomfaniswano wesikole kwabe sekunikwa nezaguga ezingu 134 izingubo zokulala njengoba kungene ubusika.

Ngokusho kukaMnuz Sfiso Shange we-South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) ezingeni lesifundazwe uthe cishe sebengu 24 446 abafundi asebenikelelwe ngemifaniswano yesikole selokhu lomkhankaso wabo waqala ngonyaka ka 2013.

“Sakubuka kubalulekile ukuthi siqale lomkhankaso ngoba sifuna ukwenza izimpilo zabantu zibe ngcono. Njengoba sikhumbula usuku luka June 16 akungabi khona ingane entula ngomfaniswano wesikole futhi sifuna nabanye bazi ukuthi kuwumthwalo wethu sonke ukuqinisekisa ukuthi izingane zethu ziyaya esikoleni ngoba kuzona kuzophuma abaholi bakusasa,” kusho uShange.

Obekhulumela umasipala woMsunduzi uThandi Ngubo usincomile isenzo sabemboni yamatekisi.

“Kuwukwakha isizwe ukunikela kubantwana ukuthi bayofunda bangazinyezi uma beme nabanye abantwana. Siyaziqhayisa ngokudlondlobala kwemboni yamatekisi futhi siyabonga ukuthi bangosomabhizinisi abasebenzisana nomphakathi nabayingxenye yesixazululo ezinkingeni ezibhene nomphakathi,” kusho uNgubo.

Obekhulumela uMnyango wezeMfundo uMnuz Thulasizwe Mvungu uthe umnyango usithakasele kakhulu isenzo sabemboni yezamatekisi.

“Siyabonga ukuthi bakubone kufanele ukuba banikelele abafundi nokubuyisela emuva emphakathini. Abantwana abaningi baqhamuka emakhaya antulayo nokugcina kubenza bazinyeze esikoleni ngoba bedatshukelwe. Manje sebezokukhuthalela ukuya esikoleni sifisa sengathi nezinye izinhlangano zingasika iphethini nazo ziphonse itshe esivivaneni,”kusho uMvungu.
