SIX people were left injured on Monday morning when a taxi and car collided at the Longmarket and Commercial Road intersection in Pietermaritzburg CBD.

ER24 paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 8.46 am, arriving shortly after.

Upon inspection, paramedics found the taxi lying on its side in the middle of the road. The passengers had already climbed out of the vehicle and were found seated on the side of the road.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that six people had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to Northdale Provincial Hospital and Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for further treatment.

Fortunately, no-one from the car sustained any injuries.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations. — Supplied.
