MANAVI Enterprises (Formerly Manavi Electrical) was started by Prakash Thakurdin in 2003 as an electrical contracting company and thereafter joined by Rajendra Rambally.

All different types of electrical projects were undertaken, some notable ones being electrical infrastructure work for Msunduzi Municipality.

This entailed electrical construction maintenance repairs and faults on the medium and low voltage system, including substation maintenance and repairs, street lighting maintenance and repairs.

Other work included stadium lighting at the Oval and Harry Gwala stadiums, Amy Jackson hockey fields, Northdale Stadium, Mkololo Stadium and Ashdown Stadium; repairs to various water pump stations; cathodic protection; street lighting in Ladysmith Municipality including Colenso and Van Reenen.

The business thereafter ventured into wholesale and retail of electrical goods, hardware and specialised tools and have imported specialist electrical high voltage testers.

Manavi Enterprises has evolved into fully-fledged contracting division, a wholesale or retail division, importers etc, carrying a full range of stove spares, refrigeration and air conditioner spares, general and specialist electrical goods and testers, hardware and industrial goods.

The heart in any organisation is its staff. Support in sales comes from Yagambram Kistan Pillay (formerly employed at Katkor Electrical) with 45 years experience while Vedanth Arjoon, Andrew Harribanse and Bafana Nkomo handle counter sales, - Supplied
